I Shiloh Rose Button was born in Bristol, Ct., grew up in Terryville, Ct., and am currently living in Augusta, Ga. I graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington, Ct. in 2012 with a background in the electrical trade. Since 2012 I have been attending Tunxis Community College part-time. My goal is to have an associate’s degree in Business Administration by December of 2018.

                Attending college part-time has opened up opportunities for me to gain experience in the workforce. As I began this journey to obtaining an associate’s degree I worked in the retail department at Lake Compounce theme park. In 2012 I had also been employed by Stop and Shop in Bristol, Ct. I worked with both jobs until June of 2014 when I decided to leave Stop and Shop to gain more experience at Lake Compounce. In January of 2015, I had left Lake Compounce to spend more times on my studies. In March of 2015, I had begun working at Kohls and pier1 Imports. At Kohls, I began as a cashier and had advanced into a cash office and customer service employee. In October 2016 Pier 1 imports gave me an opportunity of becoming part of the sales leadership team. With this opportunity I had put in my two weeks’ notice at Kohls and had become a Sales Leader at Pier 1 Imports in Bristol, Ct. I held this position until June of 2017 when I moved to Augusta, Georgia. Since the move, I have been a sales associate at Pier1 and am waiting for the opportunity for advancement.

                I have kept myself very busy between work and studying while here at Tunxis Community College. I am a member of the Tunxis Business Club. I have also volunteered at Plymouth Ambulance Corporation in the explorer program and at Northwest Connecticut Rod and Gun Club.
