My military career is a good example of this general education ability. I was in the Marine Corps for four years (2002-2006). I joined because I wanted to give something back to my country. I wasn't even a citizen yet but when 9/11 happened, I knew that I had to contribute somehow. During my time in the military, I went on four deployments. My second year in, I went to Haiti to help the people there drive out their president. We were more of a police force while we were there, and we drove out corrupt politicians and police.

     My last two deployments were both in Iraq. The first time we were more of a police force and we pratrolled the street to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people. We provide school supplies for children, and food and water for households. My second time in Iraq was more of a "takeover". That being said we took over a city that was run by terrorist.
