My name is Rafaele Fierro and I have been teaching at Tunxis Community College for seven years mainly in the discipline of history. More recently I have also taught American Government and Composition courses. I like to engage students in critical thinking and using the teaching tools that I have to make them more intellectually curious.

I also take pride in developing a friendly rapport with students without sacrificing that sense of authority they have come to expect of me.

I got my doctorate from the University of Connecticut in 2000 in immigration history and my B.A. from Trinity College in 1992.
